A Note About Vehicle Weight

The weight of the vehicle is a critical piece of information required to calculate power and torque. It is important that this value be as accurate as possible. Ideally the value can be obtained from a scale. If this is not available, use the curb weight of your vehicle from the owner’s manual and add to that the weight of any passengers and cargo.

Note: DO NOT use the GVWR or gross vehicle weight found on the sticker inside the door jam. This is the weight of the vehicle fully laden with its maximum permissible load. This number is generally much too high.
